April School

Wednesday, April 13, 2016, was a school night for all those Masons who wished to learn. The evening began with W Adam Schoepflin giving an excellent talk about the symbolism of the “Winding Stairs” in which the information that can be received from climbing these stairs will help not only yourself, but, your family and your community. Thank you W Adam, the talk was inspiring giving us a piece from one of Dr. Martin Luther King’s civil rights speeches, “Faith is taking the first step, even when you can’t see the whole staircase”. This is what we as Masons are taught to do, trust in faith and get things done.

The main purpose of the meeting was to go over the first half of the Second Degree. This was done very well by the Brothers of Service City Geba Lodge No. 1009. The Lodge was lowered to Second Degree and new Fellowcrafts were allowed to enter and gain “Light” from the Degree work.

The other purpose was to say goodbye to RW Joe Saglimbene District Deputy Grand Master and RW John McKoy Grand Stewart. They both will be missed but they will have new obligations in our district, to both of you a Grand Thank You from the Queens District. We also had a chance to meet the soon to be new District Deputy, W Spiro Triantafilis and our Staff Officer W Thomas Nazario. We wished all of them the best in their future endeavors.

We ended with prayer and went downstairs for coffee and Fellowship.
