This year the Queens Masonic Association (QMA) combined the Testimonial Dinner and the MW Stewart C. McCloud Essay Grant Award dinner and it was a great night to be a Mason! After the fantastic cocktail hour, we opened the evening with the Pledge of Allegiance and the Color Guard posted the Colors. Then there was a Prayer by Ernest Mendler and the evening’s festivities began.
The President of the QMA, W Richard Araya introduced the visiting Grand Line Officers and the past District Deputies.
After the first course RW Stewart McCloud II introduced the recipient of the MW Stewart C. McCloud Grant Award, Ms. Ariana Han, who read her essay about Nursing and Patient Care. RW Stew said his wife, who is a nurse, had nothing to with who received the award.
After that, W Richard Araya gave a quick introduction to RW Richard Primiano, who has been a Mason for the past sixty years! Then RW Richard Primiano’s wife spoke about all the things that RW Richard has done in and for Masonry over the past years. One of the things the Queens District is most proud of is his untiring and extraordinary work with the Blood Program, everyone thanked him for all his work and his guidance.
RW Richard first of all thanked his wife for putting up with him for 62+ years. He thanked everyone for all the help he has received over the years and for being able to give so much to Masonry and the Community.
The rest of the speakers thanked Ms. Han for her inspiring essay as well as thanking RW Richard for his years of service to the Craft. The Grand Master MW William M. Sardone was the final speaker and he thanked both for their help and betterment to our community. He also presented VW Alan Schneider and RW Gregory Noulas each with an Award of Appreciation for all the work they have done for Masonry.
GM William spoke about the Masonic Telethon and the amount of money that was raised to help with all the work going on up in Utica New York.
W Richard Araya thanked the QMA and the Purple Circle for making the evening possible and told everyone to enjoy their meal and to get up and DANCE!
