Brothers,

Here is an article from W Ernest G. Mendler about his father-in-law, the Honorable Brother Charles A. Lovale:

In September of the year 1978, the Honorable Brother Charles A. Lovale, of Hollis Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons, laid down the working tools of life. My father-in-law was a Judge of the Civil Court in Queens County and a top notch Real Property Lawyer co-authoring many of the laws we uphold today. He was a driving force in the establishment of the Title Examination Standards first put in place at the Title Guaranty & Trust Company in the early 1930’s and later adopted by the New York State Land Title Association and the State Bar. He was president of many bar associations and lawyers clubs, but was most proud of being a Brother in the Lodge. Whenever I have taken an oath [at the Altar] it has been on his Masonic Bible.

Thank you W Ernest for this insight into the Brother who gave you the sound footing upon which you began building your Masonic Temple.

I ask all of you to send me a write-up chronicling something that happened in your life that might have a Masonic touch to it. It does not have to be long even a paragraph or two will suffice.  My e-mail is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . I thank you in advance. Keep in mind my Brothers we’re “Old enough to remember, not too old to listen!”

Respectfully Submitted,
