History of Advance Service Mizpah

The newest Lodge in the Queens District received its Charter on January 31, 2018. The transition of the two Lodges (previously six individual Lodges) Advance Island City Mizpah and Service City Geba was handled very smoothly by each consolidation team.

It is a new beginning with great anticipation for the success of ASM. The first Master of the Lodge is W\Michael H. Holtz. The Lodge consists of 217 Brothers that includes17 RW and 33 W Brothers (the largest number in the District), who have played key leadership roles in the District and Grand Lodge. There have been 10 Herman Weiss medal recipients and 5 Medallion recipients (the highest award given by the Queens Purple Circle) and several Officers in the Queens Purple Circle (President, Treasurer, Secretary and Chaplain), and 8 Queens Masonic Association Froessel recipients - the largest number in the District. The Lodge has had 2 District Advisors (aka District Leader/Supervisor).

The Officers' line consists of all Brothers who are vibrant and caring and have excellent Leadership potential. Several new Brothers have been elected or appointed to District Teams (i.e., School of Instruction, Masonic Safety ID and the NorthStar Program, etc.).

Note: Also, see the history and evolution of the six Lodges Advance, Island City, Mizpah and Service, City, Geba that make up the current Lodge.
